"And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane
by those who could not hear the music."
Please join us for ballroom dance lessons every Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at 445 Mitchell Street (next to Red Sky Stage). The first hour consists of a group lesson, which is followed by a social dance.
Classes are $7.00 per person, with no other registration or membership fees required. A variety of ballroom and Latin dance styles are taught on a rotating basis, including waltz, tango, swing, cha-cha, hustle and foxtrot, among others. Each dance is taught in 4-5 week sessions, beginning on the first Tuesday of the month. A partner is not necessary, as both singles and couples attend, and we encourage rotating partners. Our dancers are of all ages and skill levels and are happy to help and encourage each other.
Our instructors are either professional ballroom dancers/instructors or experienced dancers who make classes both enjoyable and rewarding, and we invite all levels of dancers to join us. However, lessons are taught progressively, so unless it is a dance that you are already familiar with, it is recommended to begin the first week of a session, although you may join at any time.
It is also best to wear shoes with smooth or leather soles for classes, both because it is easier to dance in a shoe that will slide, and also to protect the wood floor in the studio. Athletic-type shoes with rubber soles do not work well, so please bring a clean pair of "dance shoes" to change into for class.
